Potential Changes to the Development Boundary : Have your say by completing the Questionnaire and attending the next meeting on 13th October
A ‘Community Conversation’ was held on Monday 6th October 2025 to discuss changing the existing Development Boundary in ways that could promote small-scale infill housing. Opinion Survey Spring 2022 – what did you tell us?
Results from the spring 2022 survey are now available via the link on the Surveys & Consultations page of this website. Feedback was wide-ranging and some of the highlights are summarised below though see the full report for more detail. What residents value most in the village are the range and quality of retail services (mentioned by 78% of the sample) followed by a recognition of a strong community spirit (56%), the Village Hall/social club and activities there (52%), the surgery and pharmacy (52%), the village greens and ponds (40%) and the attractive village centre (37%). Opinion Survey is now closed – thank you for taking part
Just over 270 completed surveys have been received - a healthy response and we thank everyone who took part. With 4 questions per survey and up to 5 replies for each we now need to organise and evaluate up to 5,400 individual items of information. The paper based and online returns are currently being combined and a digital spreadsheet approach taken to the analysis. When complete, a summary of the findings will be published on this website and elsewhere before being used to identify core themes and help draft policies for inclusion in the Neighbourhood Development Plan. ...
Opinion survey closing date extended to Sunday 17th April
We have now received 120 completed surveys. Thank you to all who have responded. With around 502 households in the village, this equates to a 24% response. 3 out of 4 of households have not yet given their opinions. Opinion survey postponed until March
In December we announced that the first survey to seek feedback from those who have a vested interest in the village would take place in February. However, concerns about the recent escalation in COVID-19 infections have caused us to postpone this until March when (amongst other activities) a survey form carrying some short, open-ended questions will be distributed. Copies will be sent out with the March 2022 issue of The Mallard and also made available on this website, from the Parish Council's website and on the village website. Update from the Great Massingham NDP
November 2021 A month ago our application to an organisation called ‘Locality’ for funds to cover our costs for the next few months was accepted in principle. The formalities needed to ensure payment have now gone through and we have been given the level of support asked for. The grant will run until the end of March 2022. Amongst other things, this funding will allow us to make a parish-wide survey of issues that will inform the preparation of our Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP).
