Opinion survey postponed until March
In December we announced that the first survey to seek feedback from those who have a vested interest in the village would take place in February. However, concerns about the recent escalation in COVID-19 infections have caused us to postpone this until March when (amongst other activities) a survey form carrying some short, open-ended questions will be distributed. Copies will be sent out with the March 2022 issue of The Mallard and also made available on this website, from the Parish Council's website and on the village website.
When the time comes, PLEASE COMPLETE THE SURVEY! Your views and opinions will lie at the heart of the NDP. We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to express their views. It's not just one reply per household but anyone who has a view should respond, including children. Local businesses, local societies and organisations will also be given the opportunity to take part. Primary school children are also expected to be involved as part of their school work.
When completed, our Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) will help to influence future planning decisions in ways that correspond with local wishes. The term 'Development' means much more than just housing. The NDP could cover anything that concerns the use and development of land. Examples include safeguarding valued features and character; the location and type of any new houses; vehicle parking; historical sites; recreational and communal facilities, and the conservation of wildlife. To identify the concerns and wishes of residents the Steering Group will need to canvass local opinion.
