Steering Group Administration
Following a written petition sent to the Parish Council on 22nd February 2021 supported by over 50 residents (click here to see the letter) the Parish Council resolved (15th May 2021) to proceed with a neighbourhood development plan for Great Massingham and appointed an interim Pre-steering Group comprising three parish council members (Jon Cole, Kim Fraser, Peter James) and chaired by a non-council resident (Mike Jackson). The Pre-steering Group drafted an application to the Borough Council for ‘designation of the neighbourhood area’ which the Parish Council successfully submitted to Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. The pre-Steering group was asked by the Parish Council to set up a broadly-based Steering Group to co-ordinate preparation of the Neighbourhood Development Plan. To this end a recruiting leaflet was distributed (click here to see a copy). Fourteen members, approved by the Parish Council were initially appointed and the Group held its first meeting on 4th October 2021. The Pre-steering Group also drafted and agreed ‘Terms and Conditions’ (click here to see these) which the Steering Group operates under in conjunction with the Parish Council.

Meetings
The Steering Group meets approximately once a month in the Village Hall at 7pm (bar area). Members of the public are welcome to attend. Dates are posted in advance on this website, on our Facebook page and emailed to those on our circulation list. To join contact us.
