Potential Changes to the Development Boundary : Complete the questionnaire to have your say

A 'Community Conversation' was held on Monday 6th October 2025 to discuss changing the existing Development Boundary in ways that could promote  small-scale infill housing. You can see detailed information on this issue and consult helpful maps by following the link here. A questionnaire seeking your opinion is also included.  This asks for your views on the changes proposed by the NDP Steering Group. To respond to the questionnaire go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/295HRC8 , answer the 5 questions and submit by clicking on the green "Done" button at the end. Please do this BEFORE the end of October.

NDP Steering Group Annual Report Now Available

The Chair of the NDP Steering Group (Jess Cunningham) presented the annual report to the Parish Council on 13th May 2024. Update on recent activity and next steps

Whilst we have been quiet over the last few months, the Steering Group have been busy considering the results of the consultation activities and how these relate to the existing and emerging local plan. May Public Consultation Event a success!

Thank you to all who attended the Public Consultation Event in May. 121 people signed in and subscriptions to our e-mail newsletter doubled to almost 80. We were impressed by the close inspection people gave to the materials displayed and the numerous feedback sheets completed. These sought opinions on such matters as future housing needs, climate change and the green spaces we should protect. We're currently analysing responses and the outcome will be posted shortly. Public Consultation Date Confirmed- 19th & 20th May

To ensure you are up to date on the progress made so far and give you an opportunity to comment there will be a two-day drop-in public consultation event in the Village Hall on Friday 19th May and Saturday 20th May from 11 am to 9 pm. Various displays will summarise results from last year's opinion survey, provide up-to-date statistics about housing, population trends, notable village features and more. We’ve been very busy … we plan to share progress at an open meeting in the Spring

Based on the feedback from the opinion survey last year, the Steering Group been busy identifying/researching objectives & policies for inclusion in the NDP. What’s happened to the Opinion Survey feedback?

Opinions gathered in the spring are now guiding development of policies that will form a key part of the final NDP document. These policies will reflect specific  concerns raised by residents in the survey which related to planning matters.  Ultimately, they will inform planning decisions made by the Borough Council whenever they affect Great Massingham.
