Future meeting dates & ‘Community Conversation’ on Climate Change and Green Energy
The December 2025 Steering Group Meeting will now take place at 6 pm on Monday 8th December not on Monday 1st December as previously announced. A further meeting is arranged for 2nd February 2026. Residents are welcome to attend these meetings which will be held in the main Village Hall not the bar area as in the past.
On Monday 2nd March 2026, starting at 6 pm in the Village Hall, a ‘Community Conversation’ provides an opportunity for residents to discuss policies that address Climate Change, moving towards ‘net-zero’ and the generation of green energy. Our planning authority (Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk) has declared 2035 as the target date for reaching net zero emissions. At a minimum our NDP must support this aspiration and as well as conforming to nationally applicable principles of sustainable development. At the ‘Consultation Event’ held in May 2023, substantial support was given by those attending to solar panel installations if they helped reduce the cost of electricity for parishioners, for wind turbines and for planting trees or rewilding farmland to enhance carbon capture. In the interim, the Steering Group is working to amend the current Development Boundary in the light of the October ‘Community Conversation’ and thanks to residents who returned the questionnaire on this topic.
